What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are liquid chemical ingredients that are used to cause a chemical reaction when applied to the skin loosens the glue (desmosomes) between the cells to cause a sloughing action that will allow superficial skin cells to slough off the surface skin. Depending on the pH of the chemical and the length of time left on the skin and with the current condition of the skin, this will determine the strength of the peel and the strength of the action on the skin.
